The pipeline from the Yarakta field to ESPO, the Transneft “East Siberia-Pacific Ocean” pipeline, is currently a very important project for the company. It is scheduled to be put into operation in the first quarter of 2011.

The pipeline consists of a linear part and uploading facilities at ESPO tie-in point #7. The linear part is 61 km. The total uploading facilities area covers around 6 hectares of land. The uploading terminal’s major facilities include oil storage, pumping equipment, laboratories, a power generation facility, measurement system, and quality control center.

Completion of the pipeline and uploading facilities will secure transportation and sales for the rapidly increasing volumes of hydrocarbons produced by the company. Link-up to the ESPO may also benefit the company in terms of preferential export duties and transportation costs.

The uploading facilities’ first stage is capable of uploading up to 1.5M tons of oil per year. As production volumes increase, the uploading facilities’ operational capacity will be expanded in 2013 to handle up to 3.4 million tons per year.
